Shillong, Mar 20: Nongdawah CC and Pomshutia CC won their respective matches in the 3rd East Khasi Hills Cricket Association District League in Smit yesterday.
Nongdawah smashed Mawphlang CC by 75 runs while Pomshutia defeated Laitjem CC by six wickets.
In the first match, Nongdawah made 156/7 in their 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Fillstarwell Nongpluh top-scored with 40 from 35 deliveries, while Moonlight War stunned everyone with 36 from just 16 balls. Mawlynnai Wahlang came away with the best figures of 4/23 in 4 overs.
Moonlight returned with the ball to grab 3/12 in 3 overs and the eventual Player of the Match award (pictured left). Team mate Kyrmenskhem Nongpluh claimed 3/21 in 3.4 overs as Mawphlang were all out for 81 in 16.4 overs.
Later, Laitjem were shot out for a measly 64 in 16.4 overs on winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Shembhalang Pyngrope (3/10 in 4 overs) and Skhembor Khongbtep (3/10 in 3) were the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, Pomshutia crused to victory for the loss of only four wickets and with 4.5 overs to spare. Player of the match Shembhalang (pictured right) top-scored with 31 and he was named Player of the Match. Antony Pathaw scalped 2/7 in 4 overs.
