Shillong, Oct 18: Rapborlang Marwein (pictured in a file photo) scored a second half brace as Meghalaya Police defeated Jongksha SC 2-0 in the first semifinal of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Victory takes MLP to the final where they will meet either Nongkrem SC or Laitkyrhong SC and also means that they have been promoted to next season’s First Division.
Rapborlang scored in the 77th and 79th minutes in front of a large and supportive crowd largely made up of Jongksha supporters.
MLP qualified for the semis by being the top team from Group A, while Jongksha were second in Group B.
Tomorrow’s semifinal will be between Group B toppers Nongkrem and Group A runners-up Laitkyrhong at 2:30PM.
