Shillong, Feb 17: Lawsohtun and Sanmer won the finals of the Second Division and Third Division respectively in the Shillong Cricket League 2024-25, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, here on Saturday.

Lawsohtun (pictured) defeated NWCC by 84 runs in the Second Division title match, while Sanmer beat Lagaan 2.0 by 34 runs in the earlier Third Division final.

Batting first after winning the toss, Lawsohtun made 165/8 in 20 overs, with a rollicking 95 from 45 deliveries by Hilarious Thabah. Lakhan Lal Das (2/15 in 4 overs) and Prasenjit Chanda (2/18 in 4) both took two wickets each.

In the chase, NWCC were dismissed for 81 in 14.1 overs, with Nick Lyngdoh claiming 3/16 in 3 overs and Greatestful Lyngkhoi 2/5 in 3. Hilarious was named Player of the Final and Lawsohtun received Rs 15,000 as prize money.

Earlier, Sanmer also won the toss and chose to bat first. They posted 147/7 in 20 overs, with Kirin (no surname provided) striking 64 from 50 balls and Eugene Shanpru 29 from 23. Gautam Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/21 in 3 overs.

In response, Lagaan 2.0 were bowled out for 123 in 18.4 overs, with Sameer Dhanraj’s 39 from 24 being the batting highlight. Kirin shone with the ball for 3/17 in 4 overs, while Hubert Shanpru bagged 2/22 in 4. Kirin was named Player of the Final and Sanmer received Rs 12,000 as prize money.
