Shillong, Mar 14: Sporting CC defeated Langsning CC by four wickets in their Group A match of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2024-25 here today.
Langsning won the toss and chose to bat first but were dismissed for 144 in 40 overs. Bamanbha Shangpliang top-scored with 28 from 49 balls, whie Aaron AR Nongrum wasn’t far behind with 27 from 33. Suraj Chettri and Rohit Yadav returned identical figures of 3/24 in 9 overs each.
Sporting CC lost six wickets in the chase but crossed the finish line in 36.4 overs. Avinash batted patiently for his 65 from 109 balls, while Manish Sharma hit 38 from 45. Aaron took 2/24 in 9 overs, while Ibitlang Thabah bagged 2/1 in 1 over.
Manish (pictured left) was named Player of the Match. In addition to scoring 38, he also took two wickets with the ball.
Tomorrow Royal CC will face Donkin SCC in Group A.
