Shillong, Aug 18: Madan SCC pushed their way into the semifinals of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2025 by eclipsing Umiew Maw U Sam 3-1 in a fast-paced third quarterfinal at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
After more than a quarter of the game was goalless Madan SCC scored a rapid brace through Phermanbha Lyngdoh (27’) and Koijam Singh (29’).
Umiew Maw U Sam threw everything they had in the second half to try and claw their way back but pressing high led to them conceding a third goal to Madan SCC’s Mebakhraw Malieh (89’).
That should’ve been that but Umiew Maw U Sam stayed in the hunt after Pynskhem Warlarpih (90’+1) lobbed the goalkeeper.
Madan SCC held on for the rest of the five minutes of stoppage time and walked away with a superb win.
