Shillong, Aug 22: Daphi Syngkli scored seven goals as Meghalaya inflicted a heavy 12-0 defeat on Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DNHDD) in their third and final Pool D match of the Subroto Cup 2025’s U-17 girls’ category in New Delhi today morning.

The result means that Meghalaya have qualified for the quarterfinals of the tournament on the back of three impressive victories.

The other scorers today were Jasmine Syngkli, Rimika Khongkai (both of whom scored a brace each) and Ibamihpli Kharpan (one goal).

Meghalaya are being represented by Nongjri Presbyterian Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi at the tournament.

Meghalaya had defeated the International Sports Schools Organisation on Wednesday and Chandigarh yesterday.

Only the top team from each pool will qualify for the quarterfinals, which will all be held on Sunday morning. Meghalaya’s match will be against the winners of Pool C (to be confirmed) at 9:30AM at the Ambedkar Stadium.
