Shillong, Aug 28: Umphrup and Sohryngkham both won their Group C matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2025 by convincing margins at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Umphrup first took down PFR Academy 4-0 before Sohryngkham defeated Sohiong 4-1.
Barrister Kharkongor (5′), Nangshemlang Wahlang (10′, 35′) and Damanglang Kharbyngar (50′) scored for Umphrup in a match that saw conditions deteriorate because of water building up on the pitch during heavy rain.
Later, Sohryngkham scored via Pynshongdor Pyngrope (13′, 51′), Kyrshanglang Kshiar (16′) and Mebankyrshan Kharpran (69′). Sohiong’s lone goal was by Balipskhem Wahlang (66′).
Umphrup, Sohryngkham and Mawryngkneng all have 4 points each with goal differences of +4, +3 and +2 respectively. PFR then follow with 3 points and Tynring (1) and Sohiong (0) round out the group.
