Shillong, Feb 22: Royal CC defeated defending champions Sputnik CC by six wickets in Group A of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, in Polo today.
Sputnik won the toss and made 209/8 in 45 overs batting first. Amiangshu Sen produced a measured 56 from 115 balls, while Chaman Pushp scored 44 from 62. Reshabh Dipak (2/22 in 8 overs) and Abhishek Kumar (2/36 in 9) were the standout bowlers.
The Royals batted swiftly, making 210/4 in just 32.5 overs, thanks to Rajesh Tati’s 69 from 53 deliveries and Raj Biswa’s 53 from 41. Amiangshu bagged 3/33 in 8 overs but that wasn’t enough to slow down Royal CC.
For his 47 runs with the bat and one wicket with the ball, Royal’s Swastic Chettri was named Player of the Match.
