Shillong, Feb 23: Seng Samla Saitsohpen and Superkings CC of Sohiong won their respective matches in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
Saitsohpen defeated Lumpaia Avengers by eight wickets in Group D, while Superkings were four-wicket winners over Thynroit CC in Group C.
In the first match, Lumpaia Avengers were restricted to 121/5 in 20 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Ibanaibor Lyngdoh top-scored with 38 from 49 deliveries, while eventual Player of the Match Ricky Surong bagged 2/18 in 4 overs.
Saitsohpen breezed through the required runs, winning in 13.3 overs for the loss of only two wickets. Winningstar (no surname provided) hit 36 from 37 balls.
Later, Thynroit also batted first after winning the toss and managed 131/8 in their 20 overs. Kerlang Nongrum struck 55 from 34 balls while Bankerlang Syiemiong took 3/28 in 4 overs.
The result was closer than in the previous game but the team from Sohiong made it through in 19.1 overs for the loss of six wickets. Wenbestar Syiemiong made a match-winning 58 from 48 and was named Player of the Match. Markynsai Syiemlieh had the best figures for Thynroit of 2/20 in 4 overs.
