Shillong, Feb 24: Rangshken ACC and Cricket Smit won their respective matches in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
In Group B, Rangshken defeated Marbisu by seven wickets, while Cricket Smit were 73-run victors against Sportopia SCC in Group A.
Rangshken won the toss and chose to field first. Marbisu then put up a good total with 176 from their 20 overs, led by Rohan Rai’s rapid 42 from 24 balls. Kyrmenskhem Nongrum took 2/22 in 4 overs for Rangshken.
Arjune Nongdhar then smashed 74 from 54 deliveries as Rangshken reached 177/3 in 18.4 overs. Rohan bagged 2/21 in 3.4 overs for a good all-round performance albeit in a losing cause. Arjune was named Player of the Match.
Later, Cricket Smit batted first after winning the toss and managed to defend their total of 147 all out in 19.4 overs. Bashaikupar Nongdhar top-scored with 56 from 33 while Gedilbert Swer claimed 3/9 in 3 overs.
Elbrenroy Mawthoh then produced a glorious spell of 4/14 in 3 overs for Cricket Smit as Sportopia were bundled out for 74 in 17.2 overs. The top score was a mere 16 by Bansiewkylliang Lapasam. Elbrenroy was adjudged Player of the Match.
