Shillong, Mar 11: Marbisu CC and Thynroit CC won their respective matches in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
Marbisu defeated Hurdles CC of Mawsynram by 23 runs in Group B, while Thynroit were six-wicket victors against Saitsohpen Veterans in Group C.
Marbisu won the toss and made 140/8 in 20 overs batting first and got to that total thanks to Hameki Susngi’s rollicking 64 from 38 balls. Sando B Rapsang was the best of the bowlers with figures of 3/16 in 4 overs.
In reply, Hurdles were dismissed for 117 in 19 overs. Nangsan S Kynter produced 35 from 28 balls, while Richard C Diengdoh claimed 3/17 in 4 overs. Hameki, who also took 2/16 with the ball, was named Player of the Match.
Later, Saitsohpen Veterans won the toss and also batted first but they could only made 101 in 18.2 overs. Ivan Maxwell Basaiawmoit’s 24 from 22 was the high score, while Adilbert Shabong stunned with figures of 4/9 in 4 overs.
Thynroit lost four wickets in the chase but hit the target in 15.1 overs. Kerlang Nongrum made a run-a-ball 30. Aleric Wanswet, who hit 20 with the bat and took 3/17 with the ball, was named Player of the Match.
