Shillong, Jul 28: Lamlynti clawed their way into the final of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2026 by edging Umiew Maw U Sam 4-3 on penalties in the second semifinal at the SSA Stadium here today. Sanmer had won the first semifinal yesterday.

Matches in the Third Division are of 80 minutes duration and at the end of that period, as well as extra time, the score remained locked at 1-1.

Laban Taro (30′) scored first for Lamlynti by getting to a long ball before the advancing Umiew goalkeeper. However, just a few minutes later, Wanpynkhraw Lymba (36′) scored from distance after spotting the Lamlynti keeper way off his line.

Both sides seemed rusty in the tiebreaker but Lamlynti, after a couple of misses, held their nerve to take it 4-3.

The final will take place on 1st August at 3:30PM in the SSA Stadium.
