Shillong, Oct 16: Laitkyrhong have avoided relegation from the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2026 after they defeated Mawtawar 1-0 in the Relegation Zone here today.

Ryntih, however, will be relegated as they lost their second straight match in the group, this time 6-0 to Nongrim Hills. The bottom two teams from the group after a single leg of round robin matches will be dropped to next year’s Second Division.

At the MFA Ground Pyniaidlang Songthiang (20′) scored for Laitkyrhong to give them their second straight win. Six points means that Laitkyrhong have done enough to avoid the drop.

Over at the SSA Stadium, Nongrim Hills destroyed Ryntih with a hat-trick from Glennys Lynrah (27′, 33′, 49′), a brace by Onyxson Buhroy (4′, 69′) and a solitary goal from Heimand Dkhar (53′).

The last set of matches will take place on Monday, both at 10AM. The key fixture will be at the SSA Stadium between Mawtawar and Nongrim Hills. Currently Mawtawar have the edge on goal difference (+5 to +4) and just need a draw to avoid relegation. The other match is pretty inconsequential between Laitkyrhong and Ryntih at the MFA Ground.

The First Division final between Nongkrem and Mawkhar will then take place at 2:30PM at the SSA Stadium.
