Shillong, Dec 2: Shillong Lajong recorded a historic 2-0 victory over Churchill Brothers in Shillong today.
It was a significant win off the back of their 1-0 triumph on Monday as Lajong had never before won their first two I-League matches in any of their last seven seasons.
Redeem Tlang (pictured left) scored in the 27th minute and Samuel Kynshi in the 72nd.
Kynshi scored his first I-League goal in only his second appearance, while this was Tlang’s second goal for the Reds in the I-League after having scored once last season.
Midfielder Hardycliff Nongbri was named man-of-the-match.
