Shillong, Feb 23: A solid performance with bat and ball saw Sumer CC defeat TNT Sputnik by 61 runs in the second semifinal of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division.

Langsning had won the first last-four match yesterday.

Sumer won the toss and decided to bat first. Their innings was underscored by Rohit Thapa and Robin Chettri, who both put up scores in the 40s, but in a contrasting fashion.

While Thapa hit 46 off 85 deliveries, Chettri contributed a very brisk 44 off 25 to see their side to 193/9 in the regulation 40 overs. Amiangshu Sen took 3-51 for TNT Sputnik.

In the second innings TNT Sputnik were hampered by good bowling from the likes of Sanjeev Chettri (4-19 in 7 overs) and Eeshant Chettri (3-17 in 6.1 overs) and were bundled out for 132 in 37.1 overs. Swarajeet Das top-scored with 25.

Sumer and Langsning will meet in the final on 26th February.
