Shillong, Aug 10: After enduring two draws and a defeat, Laban finally won a match in the ongoing First Division by pipping Mawlai 2-1 here today.

In the first match of the fourth round, Laban pulled out a two-goal lead thanks to Victor Shadap (17′) and Bickyson Kharkongor (66′) in another rain-affected match. These two players are the only ones to score for Laban so far this season in the four games.

Stephanfield Lanong then scored his first for Mawlai right towards the end of the match, in the 89th minute and 2-1 was how the contest ended.

This was Mawlai’s second loss in four outings and they have four points from one victory and a draw. Laban, meanwhile, have five points.

Tomorrow, in the Shillong Premier League, reigning champions Langsning will take on Malki at 4PM.
