Shillong, Jan 7: It looks like being a low-scoring U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy plate group match between Meghalaya and Nagaland with as many as 15 wickets falling on the first day today.
In Jorhat Nagaland won the toss and opted to bat first, but Aryan (3/53), Abhishek (3/54), Sudhir Sahani (2/23) and Bipin (1/35) were able to take wickets at regular intervals for Meghalaya to bowl out their opponents for 188.
Meghalaya also struggled with the bat, however, and at stumps were 61/5, trailing by 127 runs.
The loss of the first three wickets for just 13 runs brought captain Raghav Kapur to the crease and he was able to steady Meghalaya’s innings with an unbeaten innings of 35, which he will look to extend tomorrow.
