Shillong, Jul 26: The Meghalaya Football Association announced the initiation of a structured volunteer programme for the new season of the Meghalaya Baby League and other MFA events and has invited those interested to apply.

The objective of the volunteer programme is to provide short-term work experience and skill upgradation for unemployed youth and give them productive work on weekends in roles that will help them build on their leadership and responsibility capabilities. It will also act as a community-building activity and prepare the volunteers for opportunities in sports and other fields, the MFA said in a press release today.

There are 60 openings available and those interested in volunteering should submit their applications at the office of the MFA (during office hours, excluding Sunday) at the JN Stadium here or through email on meghalaya.fa@gmail.com, by 30th July.

Only individuals 18 years and above who are serious in seeking skill development are requested to apply. Preference will be given to youth who are unemployed, but all are welcome. There will also be a female quota of 30% (minimum).

Selected volunteers will receive a certificate at the end of the programme as well as t-shirts, travelling expenses and refreshments on work days.
