Shillong, Aug 27: The Meghalaya U-14 boys’ football team, represented by District War Sepngi Christian Higher Secondary School, lost to Assam’s Betkuchi High School 5-3 in a tiebreaker to settle their quarterfinal in New Delhi yesterday.
Full time had ended 1-1, while extra time ended 2-2. The two Meghalaya goals were scored by Sainpyniar Lyngdoh and Wansiewdor Nengnong.
In the group stage Meghalaya had drawn 2-2 with Gujarat, beaten Madhya Pradesh 13-0 and beaten Uttar Pradesh 3-0.
