Shillong, Aug 27: The Meghalaya U-17 girls’ football team, represented by Umthli Higher Secondary School, are heading to New Delhi for the final round of the Subroto Mukherjee Cup.
Meghalaya are in Group H along with Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Chhatisgarh and will play their first match against Arunachal on 30th August.
Umthli Higher Secondary School won the state-level Subroto Cup in their age category by Joel Gatphoh Memorial Synod Higher Secondary School 7-0 in Shillong on 3rd August. Two of their players won individual awards – Ayushika Thapa as Best Goalkeeper and Eusibia Kharkongor as Best Player.
The team is led by coach Rohit Nongspung and manager B Nongkynrih.
