Shillong, Oct 12: League leaders Rangdajied United registered a comfortable 5-1 victory over sister club Nangkiew Irat in the first match of the second leg of the Shillong Premier League 2019 at the JN Stadium here today.
These two teams had played out a goalless draw in the reverse fixture on 3rd September.
Today Wallamsuk Nongkhlaw scored a brace in the 16th and 20th minute before Nangkiew reduced the margin through a 34th minute penalty taken by Denelson Pyngrope.
Samson Nongrum (67′), Donlad Diengdoh (78′) and Oresterwell Langshiang (86′) then scored for Rangdajied in the second half.
Nongkhlaw scored his goals first with a volleyed a cross into the back of the net and then off an Aiborlang Khongjee free-kick.
Shano Tariang was fouled in the box to give Nangkiew the penalty, which Pyngrope converted for the 50th goal of the season.
A minute after coming on the pitch in the second half Nongrum and Diengdoh chased a long ball, which Nangkiew goalkeeper Pynteilem Thangkhiew came off his line to try and clear. Diengdoh shielded Thangkhiew, however, and that allowed Nongrum to chip the ball into the net.
Diengdoh then put the contest well beyond any doubt following an assist by Langshiang and the latter got on the scoresheet himself by scoring off a rebound after Thangkhiew had blocked an earlier shot.
On Monday Langsning are scheduled to take on Laban at 3PM. In the first leg these sides drew 0-0.
