Shillong, Dec 5: The Meghalaya team that were crowned champions of the Sub-Junior National Football Championship returned to Shillong today in triumph.
The team and officials – coach Jefferey Warlarpih, manager Beneslaus Khyriem and physio Franklin Sohphoh – were greeted by Meghalaya Football Association officials Bor Diengdoh (Vice-President), SS Rapthap (General Secretary), Wanshanbor Kharkrang (Treasurer) and Arki Nongrum (CEO) on their arrival.
The boys had scored 29 goals and conceded just five in eight matches from the zonal stage to the final on 3rd December and were unbeaten throughout the competition.
A formal felicitation of the team will be held at a later date.
