Shillong, Dec 20: Divyansh Rajput struck a double century for Meghalaya on the first day of their Cooch Behar Trophy match against Arunachal Pradesh in Tezpur today.

Arunachal won the toss and elected to field first. Rajput hit 212 off just 202 deliveries with 24 fours as 12 sixes in Meghalaya’s total of 293 all out. That represents over 70% of his team’s total.

In reply Arunachal were 5/2 at stumps, still 288 runs behind Meghalaya’s first innings score, with Abhishek Kumar claiming both wickets.

Meanwhile, in the U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy, Meghalaya won the toss against Chandigarh in Chandigarh but could only post 119 all out after choosing to bat, with Yogesh Tiwari the top scorer with 31 runs.

At stumps Chandigarh were 48/3, with Roshan Warbah taking 2/11 and Elchiang Ch Momin 1/29.
