Shillong, May 27: Meghalaya lost another two people involved in the state’s sports community in recent days – Bresterwell Kharumnuid (pictured left) and Pynshngain Langpen (right).
Kharumnuid passed away on May 25, it was announced yesterday by his friend and colleague Lorenzo Warjri. They served together in All India Radio and in various associations to promote martial arts.
Kharumnuid was the founding member, Vice-President and General Secretary of the Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association, Meghalaya Kurash Association and MMA Meghalaya respectively, Warjri informed. His death was also mourned by noted kickboxer Hameshaniah Suiam.
Langpen, meanwhile, passed away today morning. The 38-year-old bodybuilder was a former Mr Meghalaya and Mr 7Wasa and used to train and represent Body Zoo Gym.
He was admitted to Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital here yesterday and passed away today morning of Covid-19 pneumonia, the Health Department informed.
