Shillong, Dec 11: Mawtawar secured a place in this year’s final of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division with a 1-0 victory over Laitlyngkot in the first semifinal at the JN Stadium today.
Ronaldo Rangslang scored his third goal of the season in the eighth minute to put Mawtawar through. Laitlyngkot came close on occasion but couldn’t produce an equaliser.
This was the third match in a row to end with a 1-0 scoreline.
The two clubs that reach the final will be promoted to next year’s Second Division.
The second semifinal will be between Nongrah and Sohryngkham on Monday at 2PM.
