Shillong, Feb 22:¬†Terrific bowling performances by Shillong Cricket Association and South Garo Hills gave them both victory in their respective matches of the Inter District U-19 Women’s Cricket Tournament today.

In Group B of Zone 1, Shillong romped home to victory by 10 wickets against East Jaintia Cricket Association in Nongkhrah, Ri-Bhoi. Zone 2 in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills, saw SGH defeat Tura District Cricket Association by six wickets.

The other match was fairly similar, with SGH winning the toss and choosing to field. Pillika R Marak and Awesa G Momin both hit 20 runs each, the latter unbeaten, but Tura were dismissed for 78 in 20.5 overs. Here Marme M Sangma claimed 3/27, while Smillin N Sangma (2/10), Jaylynn Mary R Marak (2/12) and Dianchidora (2/17) all bagged two wickets each.

Tomorrow, Ri-Bhoi will take on West Khasi Hills in Group A of Zone 1 and Tura will face EGH in Zone 2.
