Shillong, Mar 29: Ehrngiew FC edged Lamare FC on penalties, 5-4, to win the first semifinal of the 6th Knockout Football Tournament, organised by Wahiajer SC, today.
Full time ended 1-1 in one of the best and most exciting matches in the tournament thus far.
Reson Malngiang (58′) had scored for Ehrngiew and Nelson Rymbai (82′) for Lamare.
Ehrngiew’s goalkeeper Eric Nongkhlaw (pictured) was named man-of-the-match and received his award from Eveningstar Teron MDC and Executive Member of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council.
The second semifinal, between Azariah FC and YBSC Shella, will take place on April 2 at 2PM.
