Shillong, Apr 17: Seven Brothers FC defeated Ryntih SC 2-0 in the final of the Laitkseh Premier Football Tournament 2019-20 on Saturday.
The tournament had recently restarted following a two-year delay because of the Covid-19 pandemic, which interrupted the competition midway through the 2019-20 season.
In an engaging contest, Seven Brothers took the lead in the 46th minute through Thrain Khongiong and then doubled it in the 77th minute via Samson Nongrum.
Nongrum was named Man of the Match. Other individual award winners were Dapbor Bareh (Best Defender), Kenio Lyngkhoi (Best Goalkeeper) and Reson Malngiang (Player of the Tournament).
