Shillong, Apr 24: North-Eastern Hill University clinched a gold medal in an individual sports event for the very first time, at the All India Inter University Kickboxing Tournament.
A NEHU kickboxing team took part in the event, which was held in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, from 20th to 23rd April.
Hame Shaniah Suiam, a registered student of NEHU from Khad Ar Daloi Law College, clinched the gold in the tatami point fighting U-57kg men’s category. Suiam had claimed bronze medals for the university in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and other NEHU staff and students congratulate Suiam for bringing laurels to NEHU and Meghalaya, a press release said today.
