Shillong, Aug 24: Hat-tricks from Chesterpaul Lyngdoh (pictured centre), Aenam Jyrwa (left) and Hardy Cliff Nongbri (right) ensured that FC Bengaluru United had a dream start in their first match of the BDFA Super Division 2022 in Bangalore yesterday.
Coming on as a substitute, Lyngdoh (56′, 68′, 85′, 90′) scored four goals while Nongbri (8′, 37′, 77′) and Jyrwa (17′, 25′, 85′) produced three each. These two players made the starting XI of the team, which trounced Jawahar Union FC 17-0.
FC Bengaluru United are the defending champions of the league. Jyrwa had won the title with them as he has been with the club since 2021.
Nongbri, meanwhile, joined in July from Ryntih SC while Lyngdoh made the switch from Rangdajied United FC earlier this month.
It was also confirmed that another Ryntih player, Ronaldkydon Lyngdoh Nonglait has also joined FCBU; he was named in the match day squad.
Bengaluru United appear to have big plans as they hired I-League winning coach Khalid Jamil in May; the club had participated in the I-League Qualifiers in 2020 and 2021 but failed to win the competition.
