Shillong, Oct 13: Shillong will play host to another first in North Eastern basketball with the inaugural edition of the North East zonals as part of the 72nd Junior National Basketball Championship 2022.
The state capital will host six states – Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram – from the 14th to 17th October tournament.
The NEIGRIHMS indoor basketball court will be the venue, the Meghalaya Basketball Association informed yesterday. Entry for spectators will be free.
Meghalaya and the six other states will be fighting to qualify for the final round of the national championship, which is scheduled for the last week in December in Bangalore. The top three from the North East zone will qualify for the main event.
