Shillong, Apr 21: Madrasa Hemayatul Islam won the final of the Shillong Cricket Association’s U-15 Inter-School Tournament 2022-23 by five wickets at Polo Ground here yesterday.
Made to bat first after losing the toss, Gorkh Pathshala Higher Secondary School were restricted to 101/4 in a full 15 overs, with Manish Kr Singh top-scoring with 32 from 26 deliveries. Kushal Subba also contributed 24, while Md Wahid bagged 2/11 and Aminuddin 2/24.
Wahid returned with the bat in the chase and contributed handily to Madrasa Hemayatul Islam’s victory with a rapid 42 from 23 deliveries as his school made 102/5 with 4.5 overs to spare. Pratik Chettri was the star for Gorkha Pathshala with 3/11.
Wahid was understandably declared Player of the Match.
