Shillong, Aug 7: Two gripping matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division saw Lummawbah SC and Mawpdang SC both win by 4-2 margins at First Ground, Polo, today.

In the first game, Lummawbah had to come from two goals to one behind to beat Pynthorbah SC, while the other saw Garrywell Syiem score a hat-trick for Mawpdang over Mawklot SC.

Kevin C Royne put Lummawbah ahead in the 27th minute but Juviar Kharkongor (41′) and Manbha Pohshna (45′) turned the tables in Pynthorbah’s favour. A late burst, however, then saw Lummawbah equalise and then march to victory on the back of goals by Andy Khmah (59′), Jefferson Pakyntein (61′) and Nathaniel Kharnaior (67′).

Later, there was no such drama for Mawpdang as they were 3-0 up before Mawklot got on the scoresheet and were never behind in the match, though they did concede two goals to Mawklot’s Iaiskhem Nongdhar (43′) and Pyntillilang Dkhar (53′).

Garrywell scored a treble for Mawpdang, putting the ball into the net in the 25th, 41st and 48th minutes. The other goal for the club was scored by Patsha Syiem (30′).
