Shillong, Oct 13: Eliastar Nongsiej scored a hat-trick as Mylliem Lum SC defeated Umpling SC 3-0 in their Group C match of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division at Polo here today.
In the day’s other matches, Meghalaya Police beat Nongmensong SC 2-1 in Group A, while Pomlakrai SC were victors over Mawryngkneng SC by the same margin in Group B. The other Group B match, between PFR Academy and Nongkseh SC ended 1-1.
Nongsiej pumped in goals in the 38th, 69th and 80th minutes as Mylliem Lum swept aside Umpling at Third Ground in the last fixture of the day.
In the first, MLP scored through Alfostar Sunn (17′) and Ramos Ingti (75′) on either side of Shemphang Myrthong’s 45th minute goal for Nongmensong at First Ground.
At the same venue, Pomlakrai and Mawryngkneng’s three goals between them were scored within a handful of minutes of each other in the second half. Phyrnaiborlang Sohtun (50′) and Sparlington Thongni (59′) got on the scoresheet for Pomlakrai while Brokenstar Warmalai (53′) did so for Mawryngkneng.
Over at Third Ground, PFR went ahead through Elaan Rynjah (55′) before Tony Syngkli (80′) equalised for Nongkseh.
