Shillong, Oct 16: Meghalaya Police, Mawshbuit SC and Nongmensong SC all won their respective matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division by large one-sided margins at First Ground, Polo, here today.
In Group A, the police trounced Lapalang SC 7-1, while Nongmensong took down Gorkha Association 4-0. That was also the same scoreline in favour of Mawshbuit in Group B as they defeated Pomlakrai SC.
Ambrous Syngkli was the star of the show for MLP, scoring in the 51st, 63rd, 78th and 81st minutes in what was a terrific second half. Bisharlang Kharumnuid (30′) and Donalius Lapang (38′) had scored in the first half, while Everestarly Rynjah scored the last goal in the 83rd. Lapalang’s lone goal was by Vishal Das in the 69th minute.
Earlier, Mawshbuit’s Iainehskhem Mawrie (19′, 69′), Lurshai Wankhar (34′) and Charming Nongdhar (72′) put goals past Pomlakrai.
The last match of the day also ended in similar fashion, with Nongmensong blanking Gorkha Association with goals from Shemphang Myrthong (2′, 36′), Mychel B Nongsiej (53′) and Rishanlang Myrthong (66′).
