Shillong, Sep 27: The third edition of the Rangdajied United Inter-School Championship 2026 concluded at the RUFC Performance Centre here, bringing together 16 school teams across the boys’ and girls’ categories.
The championship featured 12 boys’ teams and four girls’ teams, providing young footballers with an opportunity to compete in a structured tournament and showcase their talent, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
In the girls’ final, St Mary’s Higher Secondary School defeated Pine Mount A 1–0. In the boys’ final, OM Roy HSS and Umpohliew Jingtip HSS played out a 1–1 draw in regulation time. The title was subsequently decided by a penalty shootout, where OM Roy prevailed 3–0.
The tournament also featured individual awards recognising outstanding performances throughout the competition.
In the girls’ category, Inaysa S Khongnain of St Mary’s won the Golden Glove, while Marley Lingchamkim claimed the Golden Boot after scoring eight goals. Deitishisha M Kharnaior was named Player of the Tournament.
In the boys’ category, Daniel L Nongbri of OM Roy received the Golden Glove, Hamebanjop Langstieh of Umpohliew Jingtip the Golden Boot with nine goals and Lambormanik Khardewsaw of OM Roy Player of the Tournament.
The championship was supported by NEEPCO, NTPC and Lunia Marketing Pvt Ltd.
Rangdajied United aims to continue expanding the championship in the years ahead, encouraging more schools, young players and football stakeholders to come forward and contribute to the growth of youth football in Meghalaya.
