Shillong, Jan 21: Shillong Lajong FC have completed the signing of Arik Bista, a midfielder and Nepal national team player.
The club revealed their latest international signing on social media a few days ago.
Bista joins SLFC’s four other foreigners – Abdou Karim Samb, Daniel Goncalves, Douglas Tardin and Renan Paulino de Souza. I-League clubs can have six foreigners in their squad but only four on the pitch at any one time. One player should be from an Asian Football Confederation country and Bista qualifies on that front.
Lajong had a Japanese striker in the form of Takuto Miki be he lasted only a handful of games.
Besides club football, Bista has featured in 13 matches for the Nepal senior national team.
Lajong had lost their last of three Super Cup matches yesterday and will now prepare for the restart of the I-League, where they are currently in fifth place.
