Shillong, Feb 1: Shillong Lajong FC signed up another Brazilian player – their fourth of the 2023-24 season – as they prepare to restart their I-League campaign.

Marcos Rudwere Genar Silva, a centre forward, was brought on by Lajong a few days before the end of the January transfer window.

He joins three compatriots (Daniel Goncalves, Douglas Tardin and Renan Paulino de Souza) and one player from Nepal (Arik Bista) as Lajong’s foreign contingent.

Bista was signed only a few days ago, while Tardin joined SLFC for the Super Cup. The other two Brazilians have been with the squad since the start of the I-League season. Lajong have let go of two foreign players – Takuto Miki and Abdou Karim Samb, the latter recently.

Not much is known about Marcos, except that he has arrived in India from Slovakia.

After a disappointing Super Cup where they lost all three group games, Lajong will return to the I-League on Saturday when they host Inter Kashi at First Ground, Polo.
