Shillong, Apr 9: Glorify Kurbah won the women’s category 6km event at the Guwahati Half Marathon on Sunday.
Over 4,000 runners participated in the IIT Guwahati-organised event.
Techniche, the annual techno-management fest of IIT Guwahati, successfully organised the Guwahati Half Marathon on Sunday at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Stadium, Sarusajai.
The half marathon featured two types of runs: the ‘Spirit Run’ spanning 6 kilometres and the challenging ‘Glory Run’ covering 21km. The theme of the marathon, ‘Run for a Cleaner Tomorrow,’ echoed the spirit of environmental consciousness and community engagement.
Glorify Kurbah finished first in the Spirit Run’s female category, ahead of Sangita Bordoloi and Padmini Das (timing information not provided). The men’s race was won by Nitish Kumar, with Sandeep Yadav second and Dinesh Kumar third.
The male category of the Glory Run was won by Chandan Yadav, with Pawan Singh in second and Bijay Deka third.
The women’s race was won by Syamali Singh ahead of Rinky Kumari Chauhan and Anita Das.
