Shillong, Apr 23: The A and B teams of Sohra Cluster won their respective matches on the third day of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s Benjamin Diengdoh Memorial U-15 Boys Inter Cluster Cricket Tournament 2024 in Smit today.
Sohra (B) defeated Mawryngkneng Cluster by eight wickets, while Sohra (A) beat Laitjem Cluster by 99 runs.
In the first match, Mawryngkneng won the toss and batted first but could only make 81/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Hamebandap War top-scored with 24 from 23 balls, while Riquel Nongbri bagged 4/15.

Later, Sohra (A) won the toss and also had a bat first but they were able to make substantially more runs, finishing their 20 overs on 155/6. Sumit Rai hit 63 from only 29 balls (thus giving him a strike rate of over 200), while Melamjingshai Kurbah did his level best to peg Sohra (A) back with figures of 3/30 in 4 overs.
Laitjem, though, weren’t able to negotiate the bowling of their opponents and were rumbled for 56/10 in 12.2 overs. Melamjingshai managed 23 from 18 as the top scorer, while Othaniel Lyngdoh Nongbri (pictured right) was stunning with the ball, claiming 5/19 in 3 overs and he was adjudged Player of the Match.
