Shillong, Jun 26: North Liberty Higher Secondary School of Jowai won the U-17 boys’ and girls’ finals of the District Level Inter-School Subroto Cup football tournament for West Jaintia Hills in Jowai on Monday.
The U-15 boys’ title was claimed by Dominic English Upper Primary School of Namdong.
Dominic English UPS defeated St Dominic HSS of Mowkyndeng 1-0 in the U-15 boys’ final with a seventh minute goal by Aibor Wahlang.
In the U-17 girls’ final, North Liberty cruised to a 7-0 victory over Kiang Nangbah Govt HSS. Deigratia Dan (9′, 45′, 54′) produced a hat-trick, Peacefully Pohplet (16′, 25′) a brace and Alisha Pyrtuh (48′) and Eiladki Ksoo (56′) one goal each.
Their schoolmates in the U-17 boys’ final won 2-0 against Govt Boys HSS of Jowai 2-0. The two goals were scored by J Nial Rasmut (8′) and Rio Marboh (39′).
