Shillong, Jul 23: The Meghalaya team will leave Shillong today for Chhattisgarh to take part in the Junior Boys National Football Championship (Tier 1) for the BC Roy Trophy.
The tournament will take place in Narainpur and Meghalaya have been drawn with Punjab, Chandigarh and Karnataka in Group C.
Only one team will qualify from each of the four groups for the semifinals, making every match vitally important for Meghalaya, who are coached by the experienced Lekini Suting.
The 20-member team had a send-off here yesterday with Meghalaya Football Association officials, led by President Hamletson Dohling, wishing them the best.
