Shillong, Sep 3: Meghalaya defeated Chandigarh 1-0 in the second match of Group F in the U-17 boys’ Subroto Cup in New Delhi today.
Banganson Nongphlang scored the only goal of the game in the 16th minute. Chandigarh had won the U-17 boys’ title last year.
Meghalaya are being represented at the national-level tournament by Mynken Christian Higher Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi, which won the state-level Subroto Cup in July.
The boys had won their first match yesterday against Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
Meghalaya’s third and final group game will be versus Bihar tomorrow at 4:30PM.
