Shillong, Sep 4: Laitkyrhong SC and Marbisu SC won their respective matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here.
Laitkyrhong won 4-1 against Imson SC in Group A, while Marbisu pipped Laitlyngkot SC 1-0 in Group B to bring the first round of fixtures to an end.
Shngainlang Surong bookended the match for Laitkyrhong with goals in the eighth and 90th minute. In between Learningstar Warlarpih (19′) and Banshaibok Khongsngi (78′) scored for the winners, while Anju L Marshillong (22′) got on the scoresheet for Imson.
Later, Damanbha Mylliemngap (57′) found the back of the net for Marbisu.
The Second Division will be back on Saturday. Third Division games will be held tomorrow and Friday.
