Shillong, Nov 26: Mylliem SC and Lawsohtun SC both won their respective matches 3-0 in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Lawsohtun defeated Mawkhar SC, while Mylliem beat Pohkseh SC by the same scoreline.
Victory means that Mylliem have a lock on second place and, with it, promotion to next year’s Shillong Premier League. Although Mawtawar SC can equal them on points if they win their last match, Mylliem have head-to-head advantage over Mawtawar after winning their meeting on 22nd November.
Today Mylliem scored through Bryan Kharbudnah (45’+2, 80′) and Forward Pdeng (90’+4).
Earlier, Morningstar Khongkiang (19′) and Kitboklang Pale (32′, 39′) scored all three of Lawsohtun’s goals in the first half to win.
Lawsohtun, Mawkhar and Sohryngkham SC are all tied on 9 points each, though the latter still have a game to play. Considering head-to-head, Lawsohtun have the best record with today’s win against Mawkhar and a draw against Sohryngkham on 11th November. Mawkhar, meanwhile, had beaten Sohryngkham on 22nd November, so they have the second-best record.
The last two First Division matches (Sohryngkham vs Mawtawar at 11:30AM and Nongkseh SC vs Nongrah SC at 2:30PM) will be held on Thursday. Malki SC have confirmed themselves as champions with victory yesterday.
