Shillong, Feb 20: A smashing century by Rahul Shah led Lumpyngad CC to a five-wicket victory over Sputnik CC in Group B of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2024-25, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, here today.
Rahul (pictured), the eventual Player of the Match, struck a blistering 105 from just 66 deliveries for Lumpyngad to reach 267/5 in 43.1 overs in response to Sputnik CC’s 266 all out in 44.5 overs in the first innings.
Samir Shah hit 63 from 73 for Lumpyngad as well, while Asif Khan took 2/49 in 8.1 overs and Rajesh Prashad 2/60 in 9 overs.
Earlier, Sputnik batted first and produced a competitive total thanks to a fine 79 from 53 deliveries by Rajesh Tati and 50 from 80 by Amiangshu Sen. Abhay Kumar Rai bowled 9 overs for 3/56, while Nitin Gupta claimed 2/31 in 9.
The next match will be on Sunday between United XI and Raj Bhavan in Group B from 8:30AM.
