Shillong, Jul 17: The East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s Second Division 2025 began in Khliehriat yesterday with three matches on the opening day.
In the first fixture, Mulieh YWSC Suchen defeated Moosianglamare New YWOSC 2-0, with Piles Sumer (9′) and Firterjoy Pariat (13′) the scorers in the Pool A game.
Later, SWO Moosianglamare Old SC drew 1-1 with Moolamanoh SC in Pool B. Primi-o Muksor (39′) scored first for Moosianglamare Old but one of his team mates conceded an own goal in the 78th minute, which gave Moolamanoh the equaliser.
Lakadong Umlatdoh SSC then won the third match of the day, in Pool C, over Dkhiah West SCSO 2-0 with goals by John Smill Amkhloo (23′) and Pynshaibha Amkhloo (70′).
Senior members of the EJHDFA – Vice-President Joshwa Sajem, Working President Mehiwot Shadap, General Secretary James Sutnga, tournament committee members Wilbert Nongtdu and Embhahlang Lamurong and ex-EJHDFA member Rymphang Nongtdu were present on the opening day.
Sajem also distributed t-shirts to all the EJHDFA referees.
