Shillong, Jul 30: Today was the eighth day of the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s Second Division 2025 in Khliehriat.
These were the last pool matches and decided the last two available places in the quarterfinals.
In the first match, in Pool F, Khliehriat West FC crushed Moopynien SCSC 7-0, with five goals scored by Arlangki Sutnga (10′, 20′, 34′, 47′, 61′). Da-o-shwa Churmang (22′) and Jesper Pohleng (72′) were the other scorers. The result saw Khliehriat West qualify as the top team from the pool
Pool H had already been decided in favour of Lumshnong YWSC but Iapmala United SC and Lumputhoi SC were vying to at least secure second place and avoid the risk of relegation. Iapmala won 2-0 with goals from Spain Lamo (19′) and Arly Lamo (33′). The result means Lumputhoi will be relegated as one of the lowest four teams across the eight pools.
The third match was in Pool G between Khliehriat East YWSC and Kairang CSC and this ended 1-1. Pyrshang Sutnga (17′) scored in the first half for Kairang but Mihsalan Langstang (72′) equalised in the second for Khliehriat East and this was enough for the latter to make it to the quarterfinals as the top team from the pool.
