Shillong, Jul 30: Madan SCC came from a goal down to beat Kharang 4-1 in Group C of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2025, which secured first place in the group and a place in the quarterfinal round.
The other match, in Group D, ended 1-1 between Mawkriah West and Umiew Maw U Sam. Both these teams had already locked in their places in the quarterfinals.
After a goalless first half, Robenson Warlarpih (50′) put Kharang into the lead only for Madan SCC to storm back with a brace each for Thanggoulun Vaiphei (65′, 85′) and Phermanbha Lyngdoh (75′, 81′).
Victory meant that Madan SCC went from second to first place, ahead of Iatyllilang, who had already qualified for the quarters.
Later, after another 0-0 first half, Bilistar Sun (47′) gave Umiew Maw U Sam the lead early in the second session only for Kiewdorlang Kyrsian (74′) to equalise for Mawkriah West. The draw meant that the status quo was maintained in Group D, with Mawkriah West finishing ahead of Umiew Maw U Sam.
