Shillong, Sep 18: The Shillong Inter School Basketball Tournament 2025 entered its decisive stage with thrilling quarterfinal encounters that showcased the grit and determination of the young athletes.

The four teams to have booked their places in the semifinals are Mizo Modern HSS, Little Flower HSS, St Edmund’s ISC and Jaiaw Presbyterian HSS.

In the first match today at the Pearly Dew HSS basketball court, Mizo Modern produced a masterclass to beat Shillong Public School 37-4. It was almost as one-sided in the second fixture where Little Flower won 51-17 against Mawkhar Christian HSS.

Then came the closest match of the day, with St Edmund’s narrowly getting the better of hosts Pearly Dew by 18 points to 16.

Jaiaw Presbyterian rounded out the day with a 37-17 win against Dinet Manik Syiem Memorial HSS.

The semifinals will take place on Saturday morning, with Little Flower facing St Edmund’s first at 8AM followed by Mizo Modern against Jaiaw Presbyterian at 9AM.

The tournament will culminate in the afternoon of the same day with the boys’ final at 2PM. That will be preceded by a girls’ final between St Mary’s HSS and Mylliem Presbyterian SS at 1PM.
